This is Carpet Shark’s new favorite show:
An aunt got him the DVDs, and we’re steeped in superheros, villains and epic battles. In fact, he’ll happily put on his Superman, Batman or Spiderman underroos (any combination of above — apparently, if you mix-and-match the clothes, you can mix-and-match the superpowers) and play superhero all day long.
We’re debating our favorites now. I am a Batman fan (possibly with a side of Green Arrow or Vigilante), while Shark prefers Superman, the Flash and Green Lantern.
Chime in. Who’s your favorite superhero, and why?

Wolverine, because he has *blades* popping out of his knuckles.
Screw flight, or super-strength…I’d be happy with animal instincts, super healing ability, and being able to go *SNIK* whenever I needed a half-dozen indestructible blades.
Also, Wolverine is probably the only superhero in the Marvel/DC canon who gets laid on a regular basis.

There’s the retro/noir appeal of the Batman.

Iron Man is first, because come on, he is a genius who made himself into a superhero by creating some of the coolest super hero accessories ever. And Bat man comes in a close second because he has no super powers in which he uses to kick butt, he is simply good and uses gadgets skillfully.

Has to be Superman. Granted that the outfit was a bit… uh… queer-bait, but the whole “spinning the world backwards to save his girl” thing was cool.
(Still hate the Lois Lane “Can you beat my mime” montage though.)

When I was about 8, I was really into Spider-Man, because he was on teevee when I got home from school. A few years later, I was into Superman, because he had the whole kit and caboodle of powers.
Lately, the Batman has been my guy, but I’m also pretty keen on some of the characters in NBC’s Heroes.

I sort of figure I get my superpowers by putting on my spandex to ride my bike. And then I run into the first hill and realize my superpowers have nothing to do with leg strength or biking speed. So it’s a bit of a mystery, still, but there has to be some reason for the spandex, right?

Wonder Woman…because you know….I’m a guy, and she’s smokin’ hot and, you know…I’d like to *nngh nngh!!* with her all night long and all that.
And brunettes with blue eyes?? Oh. My. God. Is there anything closer to heaven than that? Plus she kicks serious ass!!
Now excuse while I take a cold shower…

superheroes rock!
call me a kid, but i’m a die-hard justice league fan! i have each of the seasons on dvd and have watched each at least 5 times this year alone. it’s riveting — and i just never get tired of the stories or characters.
i like shayera hol, aka hawkgirl, best — in fact, i have a major crush on her! but each of them have a soft spot in my heart! the writers and animators for justice league just really did a great job in developing plots and characters. even when the show got bigger with even more characters in justice league unlimited, the show still retained a sharpness and sense of continuity.
as far as marvel comic book heroes, i like luke cage and elektra!

Probably The Comedian from Watchmen…the entire graphic novel is beyond excellent, and the Comedian is fascinating to read about. Considering he dies before the novel even begins and doesn’t actually have any superpowers, it’s a pretty impressive feat to be my all time favorite.
But when it comes to superheroes I would jump in a heartbeat, I pick the movie version of Wolverine. I’m getting all hot and bothered just typing this. Call me anytime, Hugh Jackson.

There is a small press comic called PS 238, about a public school for the powered children of super-folk. In the series, there is a character named Revenant, a Batman clone who I love because he has taken on the task of keeping one of the kids, who has no powers whatsoever, but whose Super parents are absolutely sure he will any day now, alive. It’s a very twisted, and at the same time human, take on the whole Batman/Robin relationship, and I love it.

I have had many favourites… Right now, I am still a fan of Gambit… From the freaky eyes, the cheesy accent, and the exploding Wolverine gags… Exploding volley-balls… Exploding cigars… Exploding playing cards…

Haven’t a child around to watch with, but they are some of my favorites from before they moved on monitor screens and I had to flip the pages – speed reading material!

John Stewart as Green Lantern… very hot. As for superhero series, PS238 is one of the best new comics out there.

It’s a tie between Wolverine and Dr. Strange. OK, so there’s always been that question about what kind of herbs Strange uses for his potions, but hey.

Clearly, the Flash is the superior superhero.
Also, Bats is pretty cool.

Batman, of course! Because there are no super powers involved, just TONS of incredibly cool gadgets! And the billions of dollars….

Batman. Why? I’m glad you asked.
1. He’s BATMAN.
2. He doesn’t need this superhero gig. He could sleep in a bed made entirely of $1000 bills and whores all day if he wanted. He’s Bruce By-God Wayne, and don’t you forget it.
3. He kicked Superman’s ass.
4. Batman has only one weakness: Robin. Robin sucks. But send him out of Batman’s sight, and what do you get? NightWing, that’s what.
5. It doesn’t matter what super power you give a Batman opponent. Batman will plan and he will cheat. Super powers will range from useless to detrimental.

Batman has always been my favorite. I’ve always found him to be the most believable. You could actually become Batman with the state of technology today.
I liked the Green Lantern back in the day but most folks don’t even remember him.
I’ll stick with the Bat.

Hmmm…as far as Justice League superheroes, Hawkgirl.
Why?
Let’s see…the ability to fly, plus lots of smashing people with a giant mace. What’s not to love?
I have a tiny Hawkgirl figurine that protects my desk at work.
Yes, I AM a geek! Why do you ask?
